 Nobel laureate Dr. Begum Rokeya University (Berobi) student who was shot dead by the police during the quota reform movement in Rangpur will go to the house of Abu Saeed, the chief adviser of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus. He will meet Abu Saeed’s family and visit his grave.
Rangpur District Commissioner Mohammad Mobaswer Hasan confirmed the matter. He said, Dr. Muhammad Yunus will come to Babanpur village of Pirganj by helicopter tomorrow Saturday (August 9) around 9:30 am. He will visit Abu Saeed’s grave and talk to his family.
Earlier on Thursday at the airport. Muhammad Yunus wept remembering Abu Saeed. He said that Abu Saeed is being remembered at this time. The picture of Abu Saeed is embedded in the minds of every people of Bangladesh. No one can forget it. What an incredible brave young man! It should be noted that Abu Saeed led the quota reform movement from the front line. On July 16, students clashed with the police, Chhatra League and Jubo League at the park intersection adjacent to the university. At one stage, Abu Saeed was shot dead by the police. The next day on July 17, he was buried at his house in Babanpur village of Madankhali union of Pirganj upazila. One of the coordinators of Begum Rokeya University in the quota reform movement was Abu Saeed, a 12th batch student of the English department.
